Inductive angle sensors
An NiFe rotor rotates through the two coil halves on a differential inductor.
The respective position of the rotor brings about an appropriate inductance distribution in the two halves of the coil.
External or integrated electronics convert the position into an angle-proportional signal.
Electro-optic angle coders
With electro-optic angle coders, a coded disk is rotated through sensor optics with a fine resolution. The rotations are recorded by a transmission. The unambiguousness of the measurement recording is ensured in this way.
Each position that is output is defined by the position of the coded disks. The information in the gray code is converted by the highly-integrated electronics and output via the respective interfaces.
